The day has finally come!

Along with Firefox3, the beta version of Yoono is now public and available on the Mozilla add-on portal.

We got rid of many bugs that you, dear beta testers, reported to us, but we also added some new cool features.

With this public version, you can now:
-  filter your friends’ activity by networks, groups or name

- upload pictures or send poke to Facebook directly from Yoono

- send direct message  or “@message” to Twitter

- select the network on which you send your “I love/ Funny / I hate”

- comment on friendfeed directly from Yoono

- comment pictures on Flickr from Yoono

- browse video from YouTube and Digg
Due to scalabilty issue, we will add Gtalk and MySpace in a few days…

Huh, how cool is that?

  • Hi all, sorry I missed your comments until now.

@Richard Yes! We always looking to add more of the services that our users are interested in. I can't promise we'll add it right away, but it's definitely on the list.

@Wayne Copy and paste this URL into your Firefox address bar: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/... Installation is really easy.

@Daniel We're not compatible with Opera right now. We don't have a firm timeline, but we're working on finishing up an IE version. Then we'll be on to Safari and Opera.
  • Daniel
Hi I was just wondering whether this version of yoono will be compatible with opera 9.52. if its not when can we expect a version of yoono that is compatible with yoono. thanks
  • Wayne
I just heard about this this morning. Im not quite sure how to go about signing up. I just downloaded the add on. So if anyone can tell me how to do it, that would be great....Thanks again for reading....

is it possible to add Jabber?

ICQ was available in our beta version. However, we had to change our technical solution for the IM and this forced us to remove temporarily ICQ and Gtalk. They'll be back very shortly, in a coming release.
  • I noticed on the website you have ICQ as one of the supported networks and IMs. But the Mozilla plugin does include ICQ as one of the services? Will this be in a future release?

    como me registro a yoono?

    Hi all,

wev'e noticed that Yoono was not working when certain add-on were already installed on the browser.
To fix this, you can download our patch here: http://www.yoono.com/quickfix/yoono.xpi

This patch will be included in our next release (coming up tonight or tomorrow).

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

I have big problems connecting to the service. Am I alone with this problem ?
  • The sidebar is not opening in FF3, my version of yoono is te latest, 5.03. When i have installed i received an error about some file in the plugin installation.
  • Andres
This plugin is not working for me at all.

The get started page on your site does not load at all.
  • Felipe
It's not working for me either. I get an error while adding it to ff3
  • First things first, I wanted to let you know that I think this application is absolutely fabulous.

Getting pop up notifications when my Flickr buddies update is one of the coolest things I have come across since...sliced bread! Haha.

My only complaint/suggestion would be adding the ability to add more than one IM account of a certain service. Because I use two different MSN accounts I would like to be able to log into them both simultaneously.

    I hope that makes sense.

Anyway, great work, and I am looking forward to using seeing what you guys do with this!

Btw- Applespam, I used Meebo as well, and agree that Yoono is definitely riding a higher line. =)
  • applespam
This is such a cool app. It's handy in all the right ways.

I second the hope for an RSS feed support somewhere in the future, besides anticipating GTalk functionality. I've tried a service called Meebo meant to consolidate all my IM services into one place, but its features weren't nearly so comprehensive or streamlined in the sidebar.

Perhaps I can add a request, for a Pandora Radio station option, or even a live "listening to" feed from iTunes/Windows Media Player? Though I may be preempting the beta just a tad...my only excuse is that I'm so excited by the possibilities this product opens to me!

No bugs to report, save a difficulty in staying signed into AIM. Impressive work!
  • Hmm... is it not working just for me?
nothing happens when I click the Yoono button from my ff3 browser.

I posted in the forums but i thought i might drop a couple notes in here. Excellent product and i just stumbled upon it in the add on with firefox. A couple things i wanted to note. It would be nice if messenger contact names could be customized, and maybe a small indicator icon next to each representing the messenger network. Everything else looks and work pretty well for a first Beta launch.

Hi, I cant seem to get through the random website feature in Firefox 3, any fixes please ?
  • You can remove it like you remove any other add-on, from the tools menu of firefox.
  • wyatt
I want to know how to delete this app. I accidentaly added it.

I just updated Yoono, and it seems like it didn't fix GooglePreview. But thats fine I can wait until the next patch.

    But I'll email you. :)
  • Benny Martini
How can we register, this app looks very nice and I would love to be part of it.

    Thanks
  • @Sentry : the fix is ready and you might want to try it instead of waiting for next public update.
Email me and I'll answer with the link to it.

  • @Nardusg : Gtalk will be back very soon ! It was included in our private beta release, and we had to test it more before we can deliver it to the public.
    Stay tuned in !

Thanks a lot for you nice comments !
  • Nardusg
    Hi :)

This is a great add on. Just need gTalk ;)

    Thanks again
  • Sentry
    @ xgrosjean

Oh thats great! Thanks for being so fast, its no problem as long as I know its being done or been fixed. Key thing for any add on to succeed is to listen to the users of the add on, and from what I can see you are doing just that! Great work.

    Thanks again!

Hey guys, Heard about you at web 2.0, but was reminded after seeing article in today's Wall Street Journal Personal Technology section. Great coverage.
  • Hi Sentry and thanks for the feedback.

The problem with Google Preview is fixed ! It will be available with release 5.0.4 as soon as possible (there might be a release before that without the fix, unfortunately).

The RSS support is very close too !

    Regards!

Just toyed around with the images section, it actually works really well! Im more and more impressed with this add on with each hour that passes. :P
  • Sentry
Hey guys, I just got this today, but have seen it for a few weeks now.

It is really, really great, and I am glad something like this has come along, with such quality too.

Here are some thing I spotted in it that could be changed though. For one, the add on does not work when using another extension called "GooglePreview". This add on basically adds an image thumbnail representing the sites that came up for your google searches. Its no problem, I disabled it.

But I have more then 50 add ons, so I had to go in and disable them all one by one to figure out what is making Yoono not show up at all. But it was worth it. :P

Also there is an annoying bug where when you scroll the main area, it gets all glitchy. Not a big deal but thought you should know, even though you prob do. Also, the music section (radio) is no where near as cool and streamlined looking as it does look in the "Get Started" flash tutorial/guide. But it says its going to be changed soon so I dont know.

What else... ahh, the pictures section doesn't QUITE work as well as I was hoping, but maybe thats because im new to it. I even went to a page like google images, or a site like flickr, and I got nothing to show up. Same thing when I tried to enter keywords to go off of. I dont know, maybe someone can help me with that...

But the video section on the other hand, is GREAT, I was expecting it to open the page of the video on youtube when I clicked a thumbnail, but instead it brought it up seamlessly as an embedded video. Excellent work.

The friends section is great too, with its filters and whatnot. Although its kinda annoying when I have to re sign into AIM, but its rare anyways. Its kinda buggy, sometimes not displaying certain friends at all, or even getting a notification that someone is trying to talk to me. Strange, but still its great so far. Still havent played around much with the webnotes feature or the 'I love / funny / I hate' it features, but I will soon.

In general, this is one of the best add ons to FF ever. Cant wait to see you get MySpace support, as well as hopefully having some kind of RSS support later down the line. Or even Flickr / Photobucket / DeviantART support for the images section, allowing me to see top images from sites like those. Similar to the current video section?

Well anyways thats my rant, thanks for this great add on and I cant wait to see how it progresses, it has great potential!
