Social CalendarioI attend bay area tech events on a daily basis and these events make San Francisco very attractive to startups because it gives us geeks the ability to step away from the computer and meet people with similar interests. Tech meetups & parties help to breed innovation and is a fantastic extension of social media. The issue I had upon first moving to San Francisco was that it was difficult to find events in San Francisco because there are over 10 event lists that I had to check each day. These days, I do get invited to plenty of things from event organizers but I still find myself spending an hour a day planning what parties and meetups I’ll be atending that evening.

Enter Social Calendario. This calendar is sponsored by Yoono but is certainly powered by my passion of attending every tech event in The Bay Area. Every party I attend, people ask me how I find these events because they see me everywhere and instead of loading things I find into Outlook’s calendar, it’s time to share these events with the world in a social calendar. The calendar is built on Helios Calendar with only a few customizations.

For now, this calendar only covers San Francisco but I plan on launching this calendar in cities like Los Angeles, New York, Austin and Boston and I’ll be looking for volunteers in those cities to help add social media events. Actually, you can help by adding events to our SF calendar. There’s a simply Add Event link at the top of our page and if you’re the organizer, add it and I’ll approve it. It’s a great way to get your event on the web.

Why another SF calendar site? Because every current calendar includes events in every category and finding Web 2.0 Social Media Events in San Francisco is always a chore. Now, it’s all in one place and I’ll be at every one of these. Thanks for your support and please share this with your friends.
