As many of you know, we announced some big changes at Yoono. I’ll talk more about these later but the primary points are that we are releasing a version of our popular sidebar to users of Internet Explorer. We also made some big changes to the user interface of Yoono to make things much easier to use. Finally, we’ve created a great way to monetize Yoono in a way that benefits our users in the form of a shopping widget that’s unobtrusive and integrates seamless with your existing widgets.

Naturally, an announcement like this doesn’t just slip past the tech bloggers and everything that’s been published about our announcement has been very positive. Here are a few snippits from some of the top bloggers:

Jason Kincaid of TechCrunch writes, “Yoono, the slick browser plugin that serves as both a social network aggregator and media hub, has announced its impending support for Internet Explorer which will be available on November 7th. In conjunction with the the new version, Yoono is also announcing integration with both imeem and MySpace, as well as a powerful new widget that will help the plugin monetize.”

Doriano “Paisano” Carta of Mashable writes, “This new shopping widget for social aggregation will generate product recommendations and pricing comparisons based on the products displayed during a browsing session. The widget will work with some of the largest ecommerce sites such as eBay, Buy.com, Amazon.com and Shopping.com. While you search for products, Yoono will make recommendations for similar items with better pricing. These products can be bookmarked and shared with friends and purchased. The widget is scheduled to be released around Thanksgiving, just in time for the holiday season.”

Rafe Needleman of Webware writes, “Today, in addition to announcing feature improvements such as a new IE version and support for MySpace and iMeem networks, YooNo is also announcing the addition of a product recommendation pane. If you’re on a site–any site–that mentions a product, author, or artist, YouNo will scan product data from partners Amazon, eBay, Buy.com, Walmart, iTunes, and other stores and display relevant product info. If you buy a product by following one of those links, YooNo gets an affiliate fee.”

Ubergizmo writes, “Yoono has much more features like chat across a wide number of IM clients, instant media sharing via IM, web discovery and content recommendation based on behavior, blogging, and more…”

I’d say we’re off to a great start. The entire Yoono team has put a lot into these announcements and we are sure that our existing and new users will love the enhancements, changes and additions to our very popular sidebar.
