Yoono is an amazing multi-purpose sidebar for Firefox and I’m authoring this blog because when I started using it back in May it changed the way I connect with friends online, listen to music on Last.FM and bookmark websites. Not everyone favors the current look and design of Yoono. A lot of people love it, including myself, but there is always room for improvement. If there wasn’t, we’d still be hand cranking our automobiles and chatting on ICQ.

The next 60 days of Yoono is going to really rock. Our users who have been with us since the beggining have given us some really good feedback. We’ve been reading your emails, tweets and blog posts and the sidebar is going to change for the better. The function of Yoono remains unchanged but we’re adding a spectacular new widget. My personal favorite change is the ability to alter Yoono’s look, feel and layout in new ways. and the friends widget will evolve to make reading Twitter and other services a lot easier.

The focus and layout will answer everyone’s complaints and you’re going to be amazed. I received a beta version with the new friends widget changes and I was blown away and immediately sent a thank you email to the dev team. Expect big changes through the first of the year because Yoono is going to get even better.

I love Yoono, however, it kills Firefox in terms of speed for a couple of minutes at startup, Please fix this, I don't want to wind up at Flock...
  • Cool! I really like the ideas behind Yoono, just the look and functionality are lacking in some ways. Some features of the service are amazing -- just improvements to usability and design should make it really amazing. Thanks for the continuing work -- I can't wait to try out the new features!
